Refining Night Cream with 0.5% Pure Retinol. Our retinol product helps stimulate cell regeneration and build collagen to diminish the appearance of fine lines, wrinkles and age spots from both photo-and intrinsic ageing. Additionally, it helps minimise the appearance of pore size, while correcting blemishes and blotchiness often associated with problematic skin. Retinol 0.5 is ideal for sensitive skin. When using Retinol you must use a broad-spectrum sunscreen such as Daily Sun Defense, Ultimate UV Defense, Physical UV Defense or Sport UV Defense SPF45 ('Protect' Product Range).

When using Retinol 0.5% care is needed. Please use the product twice a week for the first two weeks to ensure toleration of the product. Thereafter, usage can be slowly built up to nightly.

How to use SkinCeuticals Retinol 0.5:
- If you have never used retinol products before, begin by limiting use to twice a week, then gradually increase frequency to every other night, and finallyonce an eveningas tolerated.
- Consult your skincare professional for a dosage schedule appropriate for your skin.
- Apply a pea-sized amount of Retinol .5 to thoroughly cleansed skin in the evening. Carefully avoid the eyes and the corner of the eyes. To ensure optimal results, wait at least 30 minutes before applying any corrective or moisturizing products the same evening as applying Skinceuticals retinol.
Cautions:
- Do not use retinol products if you are pregnant or lactating.
- Do not use if taking prescription acne medication, or if undergoing a skin peeling regime.
- Topical retinoids are an effective treatment for photoaging, but dosage tolerance varies significantly from user to user. Though proper skin acclimation is helpful, and in most cases successful, some people may never be able to tolerate high concentrations of retinol. Side effects, generally referred to as retinoid dermatitis, can include skin flaking/peeling, stinging (especially upon application of other skincare products), slight to moderate erythema, and – in severe cases – hot spots and scabbing.
